WELCOME TO DCBY

At DCBY we want to ensure that you have the best yoga experience that we can give you. All of our teachers at DCBY are passionate about this yoga and have completed, at minimum, an extensive two month 500+ hour teacher training course.
Studio owner Fiona McNamara, has spent the last few years training and teaching abroad with some of the most senior teachers in this Yoga tradition and is always happy to share her knowledge with you. Fiona is known for her mindful teaching approach and mentors all of her teachers in DCBY to ensure the teaching stays at a consistently high level. We look forward to seeing you in the hot room!

HOW TO GET STARTED?

No need to book, just show up to any class!
Dress lightly(shorts / leggings / t-shirt). Bring a mat and a long towel to cover your mat with, also available to rent at the studio. We have changing rooms with shower facilities and hair dryers. Complete beginners are welcome in any class and all classes are open to students of all levels. It is a beginner’s series but is equally challenging for the experienced student.
First time students should arrive 15-20 minutes before the start of class. Doors open 30 minutes before all classes. Please be on time as the door is locked once the class starts.
Make use of the Introductory month, do as much yoga as you can and watch yourself transform!

OUR CLASSES

We offer over 20+ classes a week suitable for all levels, beginners through advanced. Our main class is the original Hot 26 + 2 (Bikram Yoga) and we have recently added Hot Hatha Flow and Yin.

Bikram 90: The original hot 26 & 2

The original 90 minute series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises designed to get you fit, healthy, and flexible and work your entire body inside out, physically and mentally.  Always the same, but always very different. You will work hard, sweat a lot and feel great! We recommend this class for all students, especially first time students. 

Bikram 75:

Just a little shorter than the 90 minutes. You'll hardly notice the difference!

Bikram 60:

A shorter version of the original 26 and 2 so you can always make class! However don’t be fooled be this 60 minute class. By flowing some of the postures together we save time and nearly do all the postures twice. Expect the same intensity as the regular class, if not more! Suitable for all levels.

Hot Hatha Flow with Fiona (75min):

This class is mainly a blend of Ashtanga and Bikram postures focusing on stillness, the breath and creating balance with the body’s strength and flexibility. This is a great compliment to the Bikram series and will help build upper body and core strength. Every class will include standing postures, hip openers, backbends, forward bends, twists, and inversions. This class is heated and open to all levels.

Yin yoga (60 min):

Relax, restore and recharge yourself with this slower paced class that targets the connective tissues (such as ligaments and fascia) by relaxing into these specific yin postures with little or no muscle contraction. The class is not heated and most poses are done seated or lying down and held for up to 5 minutes. No experience necessary. 

Intermediate:

A dynamic sequence of 40+ postures including sun salutations, hip opening postures, arm balancing, and back bends. This class draws from the Bikram series and the advanced 84 asanas designed to build strength, flexibility and balance. See workshops. This class is a pop up class. Drop in €20 | Members €10

AcroYoga:

Learn the foundations and fundamentals of AcroYoga with International and Partner Acrobatics Certified teacher Giulia Babolin. This popular class is offered as a 6 week course and occasionally as a pop up class. Check out courses on our Facebook page. No experience or partner needed!

Handstands:

Always wanted to learn how to stand on your hands? Join Vincent for these great workshops that will teach you to stand on your hands. Vincent's mindful teaching and attention to detail will soon get you off your feet! This is an open level class. Beginners welcome. Generally this class takes place twice a month on a Monday 2.15-3.30pm but please check out our Facebook page for dates.
